The Greater Newark Conservancy, one of our long-term agency partners, promotes environmental stewardship to improve the quality of life in New Jersey's urban communities. Founded in 1987, the Conservancy has four program areas--environmental education, community greening and gardening, job training and advocacy for environmental justice.

Under the auspices of CDS – Civic Engagement, we are conducting an interactive environmental sustainability training component for the community education interns and staff of the Greater Newark Conservancy. Over a 6 week session we explore topics such as Global Awareness, Nutrition, Agriculture, Rain Water and Litter and Presentation Skills. We have worked in teams to create and modify environmental sustainability projects and research via Google applications and websites.
