CECC @ NJIT

The Civic Engagement Computer Center at NJIT is a student-staffed resource of technical computer support through virtual volunteer projects for community agencies. Established in 2002 with a $10,000 donation from Lucent Technologies, Inc., the Center provides an avenue for NJIT students to connect their academics skills with civic engagement experience.

Over 60 NJIT students have volunteered or worked to produce technical solutions for web design, data management, and basic computer training needs for community organizations such as Newark Public Schools, Newark Literacy Campaign, Clinton Hill Weed and Seed, Council for Higher Education in Newark, and Somerset Children’s Choir.
