Hispanics at a Glance
The results of the 2010 Census Report from July 2012 showed that the following information for Hispanics:
Population:
- 53 Million in the United States
- 128.8 Million projected growth by 2050
- 1.6 Million in New Jersey
- 8 Sates having more than 1 Million with enough electoral votes to elect the president of the United States
- 21 states in which Latinos are largest ethnic groups
Purchasing Power:
- $1.1 Trillion in 2010 up from $210 Billion in 1990
Income:
- $38,624 slightly lower than us
- 25.3% Poverty Rate down from 26.55%
Education:
- 63.2% had a high school education
- 13.2% had a Bachelor's Degree or higher in 2011
- 1.2 Million Latinos with advanced degree
Voting:
- 8.4% voted in the 2012 Presidential election
Serving Our Country:
- 1.2 Million Women and Men
Businesses:
- 2.5 Million Latino-owned businesses in 2010, up 45%
